  • Mortgage Enforcement Law Clerk

    Chaitons LLP is an established multi-practice law firm with a reputation for excellence.  We are currently recruiting for full-time Mortgage Enforcement Law Clerks to join our firm.

    SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum 3-5 years experience working on secured mortgage enforcement files on behalf of financial institutions;
    • Preparation of demand letters, notices of sale, statements of claim, default judgment, motion records, garnishments, etc.
    • Ability to work both independently and within a team-oriented environment;
    • Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision and take initiative as required;
    • Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma/Certificate from a recognized institution;
    • Strong technical skills with proficiency in MS Office applications;
    • Experience with DRN and Litigation/Collection Highway a definite asset;
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.

  • Litigation Law Clerk/Legal Assistant

     

    Chaitons LLP is an established multi-practice law firm with a reputation for excellence.  We are currently recruiting for a full-time Litigation Law Clerk/Legal Assistant to join our expanding Litigation Department.

     

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    · Knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and online court filings;

    · Drafting correspondence and pleadings;

    · Scheduling court appearances, examinations for discovery and other appointments;

    · Preparing court forms, Affidavits of Documents, etc;

    · Communicating with lawyers, clients, process servers, skip tracers and other third parties.

     

    Qualifications:

    · Minimum three years civil litigation experience;

    · Ability to work independently, follow instructions with minimal supervision and take initiative as required;

    · Possess Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma/Certificate from a recognized institution;

    · Excellent keyboarding skills with proficiency in MS Office applications;

    · Extremely organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills;

    · Knowledge of litigation software including document management.
